From modest start to thriving community
On the 17th of September 1988, history was made when the first international school under the flagship of the Island Nation was founded. Under the patronage of then His Excellency the Ambassador A.L.M. Hashim, this dream project became reality through the tireless efforts of 20 Sri Lankan stalwarts who believed in the power of education.
Formally known as the Sri Lankan Embassy International School, SLISR commenced its journey with just 11 students and 4 dedicated teachers. What began as a modest institution has grown into one of the leading education providers in the region over the last three decades, serving families from diverse backgrounds.
Today, SLISR operates three separate campuses dedicated to girls, boys, and kindergarten education. The school is affiliated with the Pearson Edexcel Exam Board and licensed under the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, proudly serving as a beacon of academic excellence and cultural pride for the Sri Lankan diaspora and the broader community.
